CAST OF CHARACTERS – Hopefully all aged between 40 and 60.
All supposedly invited to The Dinner Party in a private room of a high-class Paris restaurant by successful attorney, Paul Gerard. French accents are not required.
| Claude Pichon | Owns an Antique Book shop and is very well read. Smart, intelligent very quick witted. Divorced. Is very resentful of his former wife. Can be charming if he tries hard. |
| Albert Donay | He studied to be an artist but ended up taking over his father’s car rental business. Now he paints abstract cars. Very unhappy – divorced, having been married to the same wife twice. He now follows her around everywhere just so that he can never talk to her again! |
| Andre Bouville | Very successful entrepreneur and owns a chain of boutiques (Bouvilles) all across France. He is rather pompous and knows the supposed Host of the Dinner Party quite well. Also divorced and dismissive of his ex-wife. |
| Mariette Levieux | Vivacious, intelligent, stylish a successful author of fiction novels. Divorced, previously married to Claude and had a fling with Andre. |
| Yvonne Fouchet | Certainly not as stylish as Mariette, though dressed nicely. Has quite a nervous disposition and first arrives then leaves, though comes back. She was previously married to Albert – twice! She wants desperately to break his silence. She felt smothered in her marriage both times. |
| Gabrielle Buonocelli | Elegant, beautifully dressed, is confident and warm. She is best friends with Paul Gerard’s wife and is actually the person who initiated the dinner party through Paul. Divorced from Andre and desperately wants to reunite with him – the reason for the dinner party. |
